WTF is Going on With Meghan Markle's Dad?

Meghan Markle’s dad has changed his plans about his daughter’s wedding more times than Tyra Banks references herself on America’s Next Top Model. If you’re like us, you’re probably HELLA confused as to what’s actually happening. Not to worry, Cab and Gab has taken time out of their days to break down the latest gossip.
The story begins with a health concern. TMZ notes that he checked himself into a hospital due to an apparent heart attack. Thomas notes his heart issues were due to an open letter his son wrote to Prince Harry two weeks ago warning him about marrying his half-sister.
Sounds reasonable, right? We feel like we’d get heart issues if were dealing with one of the world’s most popular families. Well, the story only gets more confusing from here.
According to Daily Mail, the dad of the soon-to-be royal worked with members of the paparazzi to stage photos. Remember those adorable shots of papa bear looking at a book titled Images of Britain? Yeah, that was staged along with a series of other images that featured him working out, being measured for a suit and looking at his daughter’s engagement photos.
There’s no word on if Thomas Markle pocketed any cash from the deal, but he did mention he was being “followed and harassed” by the paps. Yeah, OK. After Thomas’ secret was revealed, he announced on Monday, May 14th that he didn’t want to go to the wedding because he was going to be an embarrassment.
The next day, Thomas changed his mind and decided that he was going to go to the royal wedding pending his doctor’s approval. Well, Thomas changed his plans again and won’t be attending the royal wedding after all.
People reports that the father will be undergoing heart surgery early on May 16th. He stated that the doctors “will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed”. Throughout this entire process, it’s known that Meghan has been texting and calling her father to make sure he’s all right.
We only hope for the best for Thomas and Meghan!
