In the early 2000s, reality shows were like the Sharpay Evans of television; super annoying, utterly fabulous and hard to ignore. With so many programs, it's hard to remember some of your all time favorites...or maybe you've chose to erase entire seasons from your mind. Whatever the case, here are ten shows that are sure to give you throwback vibes.
1. That's Amore ran for a short two months and featured Italian stallion Domenico Nesci. 10 points for whomever remembers his run on A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila.
2. The Swan aligns with the Kardashian-Jenner's way of thinking: if you're born ugly, just go under the knife! The show gave "unattractive" women extreme makeovers then had them compete in a beauty contest where they'd be crowned as the queen "Swan". Needless to say, this show made Susan B. Anthony roll over in her grave.
3. For those who treat reality TV as their religion, they know Pretty Wild is MECCA. The show followed Alexis Neiers and her family while she was being investigated for being involved in a series of burglaries of celebrity homes. Insane, right? Well, the show is even more insane and features a cameo by Ryan Cabrera.
4. Date My Mom may have been the most horrifying concept MTV has invented. The show asked three moms to go on three dates with...you guessed it, three different contestants. Each mom had to convince their specific date to go out with their son or daughter.
5. Jerseylicious proved big hair means big drama. The show was released during the popularity of Jersey Shore and followed the daily lives of NJ's finest hairstylists. But lets be honest, their spray tans, hair extensions and duck nails were truly the stars of the show.
6. Mr. Personality was like The Bachelor on crack with Monica Lewinsky. The show asked a single lady to find her husband through a sea of twenty bachelors who were all wearing a Leo DiCaprio The Man in the Iron Mask-worthy face covers. No, nothing weird about that at all.
7. To be honest, Beauty and the Geek was a crowd favorite here at Cab & Gab. Ashton Kutcher was an executive producer on the show which tried to set popular ladies up with total nerds. Shockingly, the show ran for five seasons and did create some forever romances. Take that, Chris Harrison!
8. Fun fact, I Wanna Marry Harry was the show that introduced Meghan Markle to Prince Harry. Lol Jk, BUT it did teach us that show peeps are completely oblivious to things happening overseas. Like, not all Englishmen standing in front of a castle are a part of the royal family. COME ON!
9. What's funnier than watching celebs embarrass themselves on the dance floor? Putting them on ICE. Skating With the Stars lasted for six episodes and had an awesome cast including Bethenny Frankel and Vince Neil. Soap Opera star Rebecca Budig took home the title of the only star to win this competition.
10. The Ashlee Simpson Show's theme song spoke to my little pretend-emo soul. She was my awkward idol who dated the hottest of hot stars at the time (I'm honestly just trying to find ways to talk about Ryan Cabrera tbh). Turn up the theme song, you deserve a good lip sync session.
